You don’t need big, box-store brands or to buy a mattress online that you can’t even try first.
You need experts who know your mattress needs to be as unique as you - and a local guide from purchase to delivery.
Sealy, Serta, Simmons, and Tempur-Pedic?
Purple Mattresses and Sterns and Foster?
Nah.
We work with wholly-owned family companies that see you as more than a sale.
You may have noticed that Mattressmax Gallery doesn’t feature big national brands such as Sealy, Serta, Simmons, Purple Mattresses, Sterns and Foster, and Tempur-Pedic.
John ran large factories for three national brands during his 35-year career in manufacturing, but much has changed in the corporate world in the ensuing decades. During his working career, these companies were owned by their founders; today they are traded on stock exchanges or owned by hedge or pension funds. Tempur-Pedic bought the financially-struggling Sealy in 2012. In 2010 Serta and Simmons merged, and in 2012 Simmons-Serta was acquired by American private equity company Advent International, which then merged the company with Tuft and Needle in 2018.
Because of John’s connections in the industry, we could have floored several of the large national brands when we opened our business. Instead, we chose wholly-owned family companies. Unburdened by layers of management and the cost of large distribution centers and delivery fleets, smaller companies are able to deliver a better-made mattress at every price point because more of their resources are devoted to the quality of components.
As the customer, you have no way of “seeing” the density of the foam used in the construction of a mattress. The products on our Gallery floor have all passed John’s “spec test”. Our entire sales team is mindful of guiding you to a mattress that is appropriate for your body weight.
