A quality mattress is the foundation of a good night’s sleep. But the right sleep accessories make you want to crawl in bed even earlier.

Pillows

When you purchase a new mattress, that is a good time to assess your pillow situation. Every mattress holds your neck and head at a different angle, so don’t be surprised if your usual pillow feels different on a new mattress. For side sleepers, in particular, it’s important for the pillow to support your 10-pound head. If the pillow isn’t sized correctly, it can lead to undue pressure on the shoulder joint.

Every pillow we hand to you while shopping will have a clean cotton pillowcase that no other person has laid on ~ just another way we help you to truly relax and engage in the process. We use the pillows we sell when you shop with us, so if you need a new pillow, you’ve had a chance to try the pillow on the exact mattress that you purchase. Pillow needs are as individual as mattress needs so we carry a wide selection in terms of both comfort and support.

Mattress Pads

The manufacturer’s warranty will recommend that you purchase a mattress pad. Mattress pads come in three varieties: waterproof pads, barrier pads, and non-barrier pads. Selecting which pad to purchase depends on your situation.

If you have kids and/or pets in the bed, we definitely recommend barrier pads. Waterproof pads are for any type of incontinence at any age. Don’t make the mistake of thinking a barrier pad will suffice in an incontinence situation. Regular quilted cotton mattress pads are the most breathable of the three pads (something to consider for hot sleepers) and are fine for people who know that moisture in the form of bodily fluids is not going to be an issue.

We stock a quality barrier pad on our shelves. The top is 100% cotton, the bottom is a flocked fabric that will not shift around on the top of the mattress.

Sheets

Here’s a subject that deserves a thesis! Like many other topics, sheet quality has been reduced to a sound bite ~ “thread count” in this case. We carry a selection of quality sheets in cotton, cotton blend, bamboo, rayon, and linen.

We also have fabric and color swatches in case you’d like to order something we don’t stock on the shelf. We’re proud that the cotton in our Supima 100% cotton sheets is grown here in the US. I’ll leave you with a link that will shed light on the topic of thread count and other sheet-buying information worth knowing.
